The Lion King
My gracious mother-in-law bought us tickets to go and see the Lion King. It was hands down, quite possibly the most amazing play I have ever seen! All of the animals looked so real and it made me feel as if I were really in Africa surrounded by all of what was going on. This play was not about the acting, it was not only about the performance, it was all about the visuals and the set up of the animals in the play. They even had an elephant (not a real one, but it looked real) walking down the isle in the beginning of the play. I sat there and cried, it was so amazing.I recommend everyone to go and see it if you get the chance to go. I promise you won't be disappointed! So thank you Lynn....that was a wonderful gift and I will always remember it!
Friday Night Games
Last Friday evening we attended our very first, Allen high school, football game. Casey and I both agreed that it was one of the best high school football games we have ever been to. It was intense the entire game and we ended up going into two overtimes! Allen-Eagles, pulled through and came out to win the game! Go eagles!!! One of our members in the youth group plays in the band for Allen. This high school have a band with about 600 members. Their performance was amazing and the music was fantastic. They would play the entire game....all the time! I thought it was pretty neat. Casey & I enjoyed watching the high school kids at the game. It reminded us of when we were in high school, almost 8 years ago, when he was on the field suited up to play ball, and I was on the drill team dancing at half-time. Now, I officially feel old!I think we are going to another game tonight, but this time we are going to watch Plano East play another team. We have many youth that are involved in Plano East High School football activities, whether it be the football team, drill team, or the band....we will be there to support them all!
Fun Weekend
This weekend we went to our family's land in Corrigan, Texas to meet some other "Cockrell" friends and family there for a weekend get together. We had a lovely time. On Saturday, my father-in-law cooked catfish....my favorite! There were a lot of people there I didn't know, and had never seen before, but it was good meeting them. I saw a lot of my husband's cousins and we laughed and joked like always when we are all together. Now for the the exciting thing that happened....I got to shoot my very first shot gun! It was really fun, and kind of addicting. My brother-in-law taught me well and Casey would coach me up here and there. I completely demolished a diet coke can! It was quite interesting. I think I have a pretty good aim. Who knows, the boys could have just told me that to make me feel good...but who cares, it was fun! This coming Friday, we are going to our very first Allen High School football game!! Go Eagles....I can't wait.
