Turning 25
I turned 25 on September 2nd. I don't feel any older, I don't think I look any older, but I am definitely older. I am a quarter of a century old...Wow, look out now! For my birthday, my parents came into town. My mom took me to go get my toes done and my dad took us out to dinner at the Cotton Patch....Great place! We watched football, went to church, I helped my mom grade some papers from her science class (kids these days!) watched some football, and bar-b-qued! It was a great weekend. I finally got over "the crud" thank goodness! That was annoying, not being able to breathe!
Casey got me season 1 of Grey's Anatomy!!! Love it....And I have watched almost all of them so far. Yikes...But I can't help it, I love the show! I got a vanity mirror arrangement that I had been wanting, so I don't have to sit on the floor in the mornings anymore to put on my make-up.
OK, so for those of you who read and don't know...I was raised in a Catholic church and am now attending a Baptist church and have a Baptist minister as a husband. Well, on Sunday my parents went to church with us. It was the Sunday to receive the Lord's Supper, which in the Catholic church we call it the Eucharist, which means "The Body of Christ" , or communion, and in the Catholic church we take it every single Sunday, not once a month or every other, which most Baptist churches do. Anyway, my parents took The Lord's Super. This was big for me and Casey because we didn't know how my dad would react to taking it, or if he even would take. You see, I was raised knowing that the manna given during "communion" was the ACTUAL body and blood of Christ. Not a symbol, but in the Baptist church it is a symbol of the body and blood of Christ. So, when our pastor, Preston, said that this was open to all believers, it meant that anyone who believed could take it. Of course my parents are christians and are strong christians, so...They took it!!! For some reading, this may be silly, but to me it was great and so encouraging to know that my parents are the type of people that are open minded, and understanding of other denominations and practices of those denominations. Now, I am rambling....But this is a great feeling for both me and Casey! :)
I hope everyone else had a good weekend, and a great Labor Day holiday!
